When church stalwart Jack Dent died in 2006 he left behind a collection of speeches and jokes.
Now they are being published and sold to raise money for Skipton's Christ Church, where he was a warden for many years.
The book, "Faith Healers Don't Do Teeth", was launched at the church last Thursday.
Jack, a member of Craven Speakers' Club, lived in Romille Street and spent his working life as a supervisor at Johnson and Johnson, Gargrave. He died aged 84.
His son-in-law, Brent Garner, said: "He was always noted for his witticisms and speeches and after he died, I found among his papers a hoard of scraps of paper and notebooks containing speeches and jottings of jokes, anecdotes and pocket wisdom that he had collected throughout his life.
"Jack was a life-long supporter of Christ Church, which is now raising funds to remove the pews, and I thought he would be amused and pleased if we could sell his collection to raise more money. Those who knew him well can hear his voice come through."

The reordering fund now stands at more than £70,000, but more is needed.
Churchwarden Rod Fell said: "Our aim is to make a more flexible space for what is a growing demand for venues in Skipton.
"The church will remain a place of worship, but will also offer space for events and concerts. I am delighted that Jack is still helping even though he is no longer with us."
The book will sell for £4, all of which will go to the reordering fund.
Copies can be obtained by sending a cheque to Rod Fell at 6 Firth Street, Skipton.
