Rotary organise free health checks
Barnoldswick and Earby Rotary Club is organising two blood pressure measuring sessions.
They are being held in Earby on Friday April 25 and in Barnoldswick the following day, Saturday April 26.
Health centre staff will carry out the tests at the New Road Community Centre in Earby and at St Andrew's Church in Mosley Street, Barnoldswick.
High blood pressure is the biggest single cause of strokes and the Rotary Club is working in partnership with the Stroke Association as part of its stroke awareness campaign. Similar events have been successful over the past four years, with some of those tested being recommended to see their GPs for further investigations.
Organiser Arthur Bardsley said: "We hope local residents will call into one of the centres on the Friday or Saturday to have their blood pressure measured. It will only take a few minutes, but it could help to save lives."
Refreshments will be available at both venues and anyone wanting more information should contact Mr Bardsley on 01282 812529.
