Hundreds bid farewell to Ingleton Middle School
11:11am Thursday 12th July 2012 in Local news
About 800 people attended a celebration weekend at Ingleton Middle School.
Many had travelled great distances to visit the school for the final time before it closes tomorrow.
Headteacher Mike Kaye said: “We had four generations of past and present student pass through the doors to look at all the exhibitions ranging the 1930s to present day, many reminiscing about their happy school days. “The general consensus from those who attended was the event was a great success. Many were visiting for the first time since they left and thanked us for the opportunity to relive their school days through the artefacts, a DVD of the history of the school and numerous photographs and historical information.
“As a school we would like to take the opportunity to thank those who have supported us over the last 82 years either as pupils, governors or members of staff.”
