A decision on whether to end surgery at the children’s heart surgery unit at the Leeds General Infirmary has again been delayed.
The delay is due to the Joint Chairs of the Primary Care Trusts being granted additional time to appeal the High Court judge’s decision that ruled the consultation, carried out last year, as flawed and inaccurate.
The Court of Appeal Judge has ordered that the appeals should now take place on March 19 or 20.
Among those fighting to save the heart unit at Leeds is Cononley Parish Council chairman Lois Borwn, whose daughter was born with a heart defect and who lobbied MPs at Westminster last year.
