WE take the plunge with this week's nostalgia picture.
It shows Coun E Moorhouse, chairman of Skipton Council, and Mrs Moorhouse, with some of the trophy winners at the town's swimming gala in 1954.
The picture has been loaned by Gordon Daggett, who won the boys' championship race and the 50 yards race. He still lives in the town.
Mr Daggett is the boy on the left and the others are I Phillip (Scouts champion), A Tosney (100 yards club championship) and P Harrison (Townsend Cup for the best novice).
We are looking for more pictures to feature in this column as our supplies are dwindling - and this column can only continue with readers’ help.
Pictures can be emailed - with some details - to news@cravenherald.co.uk or sent by post to Lindsey Moore, Deputy Editor, Craven Herald, 38 High Street, Skipton, BD23 1J
