New signing Tom Bradley scored his first goal for Town as they wrapped up another three North West Counties Premier Division points on Saturday.
Full back Bradley, a recent recruit from Padiham Town, netted in the 78th minute.
Bradley, whose nickname is “Chopper”, won a tackle 30 yards out and quickly stormed into the penalty area before sliding the ball past the advancing Ben Proctor.
And as if that wasn’t enough, he almost added a second in the last minute when he beat a couple of players before having his shot cleared off the line.
Bradley’s late sorties into attack brought an entertaining end to the match.
After a quiet start, Town went after 24 minutes when a great cross field pass found Liam Blades.
He took the ball into the penalty area and was brought down. Top scorer Mark Threlfall converted the resulting penalty, shooting into the top left hand corner of Proctor’s net as he sent him the wrong way.
Town should have increased their lead three minutes into the second half after a Blades free kick found Shaun Airey all alone at the far post, but he headed wide.
Glossop equalised after 64 minutes when a long throw into the Town penalty area was headed on at the near post to Jonathan Hirst who swivelled to hit the ball over Billy Carrington into the net.
Town regained the lead after 72 minutes when Andy Lee split the Glossop defence with a cunning ball inside the full back, Blades ran onto the ball and crossed to the near post.
Threlfall slid in with a defender and the ball was deflected to Danny Morton who made no mistake.
Town kept pressing and made the points safe when Bradley made his mark.
