Albion Sports are still perfect
Albion Sports 3, Garforth Town 2
Albion Sports’ excellent start to the campaign saw them take their points tally to six from their first two games following promotion to the Toolstation Northern Counties League East Premier Division.
They won their first game at their new home Throstle Nest tonight, and it was against Garforth Town, who only came down from the Evo-Stik League last season.
Danny Brown headed Albion in front in the fifth minute and then good work from Micah Bluea and Charlie Flaherty forced an own goal midway through the first half.
Danny Facey made it 3-0 just after the hour mark but Garforh hit back with two late goals after Albion keeper Aaron Brian had saved a penalty.
Things did not go as well for Silsden as they lost for the first time this season.
The Cobbydalers were at home to rivals Colne in what was their fourth North West Counties League Premier Division fixture this term.
Silsden had won their first two and drawn at the weekend but they slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home tonight.
Kristian Evans headed the red-rose visitors into an early lead but Ben Crabtree levelled minutes before the break.
Colne took control in the second half but had to be patient for their victory.
Jason Hart netted an 81st-minute penalty and Robert Grimes wrapped up the scoring with less than two minutes remaining.
