Barrett's deadly boot can help Wharfedale dent Esher's unbeaten record
Wharfedale will be hoping that the deadliest boot in National League One will put a dent in Esher’s unbeaten record at The Avenue on Saturday.
The Greens’ stand off Tom Barrett is the division’s top scorer with 80 points from four matches after scoring 25 points in last Saturday’s 40-27 win at Tynedale.
Coach Jon Feeley is delighted with Barrett’s form. “It reflects the hard work and commitment he puts into developing his game,” he said.
“He is always out practicing his kicking before and after every training session and he is being rewarded for his hard work.
“I am also pleased with his play with the ball in hand and he poses a real threat at half back where he has formed a good partnership with Philip Woodhead.”
Feeley, who highlighted the dominance of his side’s pack for their first league win at Tynedale, knows that his men face a tough test.
He said: “Esher are an ambitious club and have access to Premiership players, but I prefer us to focus on what we can do.
“I am pleased with the way our performances have improved week by week and there are some good signs.
“We have some strong partnerships developing. Joe Altham and fellow prop Chris Steel were superb in the last two games.
