Silsden miss their chances as they are held to draw by basement boys

The Cobbydalers were hoping to build on the North West Counties League Premier Division victory over Norton but had to settle for a share of the points at basement boys Wigan on Tuesday.
Once again, Silsden looked reasonably solid at the back and in central midfield but the failure of the strikers to capitalise on their chances resulted in one point rather than three.
The main culprit was striker Nathan Egan, who had missed numerous chances a week ago at Liversedge.
Boss Andy Geary named an unchanged side but the team seemed to lack the passion needed to dominate.
Chris Wademan forced an excellent save from keeper Danny Lever before the Robins took the lead after 15 minutes. Silsden were caught out by a long ball and Craig Haynes merely had to lift it over the advancing Edward Hall.
The goal gave the Robins a visible liftbut gradually Silsden created some openings, Kristian Hargreaves seeing his powerful effort tipped over the bar. Egan headed over from close range and further chances eluded him before the break. Wigan almost increased their lead when Andy Hill under-hit a pass but keeper Hall made a crucial save.
At the other end, Wademan went on a mazy dribble and had a shot blocked from close range.
The equaliser came on 64 minutes when Lever punched a corner clear but Anthony Lynch blasted into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the box.
Instead of pushing forwards, the Cobbydalers took their foot off the gas.
Both sides might have snatched a winner, with Hargreaves forced to clear off the line in stoppage time.
On Saturday Silsden are at home to Alsager and on Wednesday they face a tricky visit to Colne.
