Little Charlie is British champion
12:44pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in Sport
Eight-year-old Charlie Teale from Bradley is following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps wheeltracks.
Charlie finished second in all three last-round races of the NETT Quad Championship, to clinch overall first place in the the 50cc standard class.
Charlie has been racing for 2½years, finishing sixth overall in his first full year of racing, and being crowned champion of his class in his second season.
NETT Quad Championship events are mainly held in the north east, with one round held locally in Barnoldswick.
Next season will see Charlie move up to the 100cc standard class and hopefully he will continue in his winning ways.
Charlie’s grandad is Bobby Fryers who competed in hillclimb and sprint events for 46 years, while his dad Mark has raced for seven years.
Next year will see Mark compete in the Northern Sports and Saloon Car Championship at Croft.
