Barnoldswick’s Lucy Horrocks, right, followed up her victory in the National Trophy Series by winning a silver medal in the National Cyclo Cross Championships at Derby.
The muddy conditions led to a number of early crashes but Lucy battled on to finish second for Team Hope Factory in the under-14 girls’ race.
She was almost three minutes behind the winner, Megan James (Abergavenny RC).
Cononley’s Ian Taylor also struck silver. He was second in the men’s veterans race, and Lucy’s mum Juliette was just outside the medals after finishing fourth in the veteran women’s race.
