Ingleton 3 Barnoldswick Town Reserves 2

Ingleton twice came from behind to snatch victory in a Craven FA Challenge Cup tie that was ordered to be replayed after the original match was abandoned for ill-discipline.

Barnoldswick took the lead after 16 minutes when Craig Bradshaw crossed from the Ingleton right, and the experienced Stewart Airdrie calmly slotted the ball home from three yards.

Ingleton equalised after 41 minutes when the ball ran free on the edge of the Town box and full back Darren Blacow struck a good left-foot shot into the far corner. Not to be outdone, Town won a penalty in the last minute of the half.

Ingleton keeper Ian Kellett guessed right but he could only palm Bradshaw’s ferocious spot kick into the net.

Ten minutes into the second half Ingleton drew level through Lawrence Read.

Kellett was forced to produce a magnificent save to deny Town before Ingleton stole the game with ten minutes left.

Billy Carrington could only parry a shot to Gary China who slotted home to earn his team a home tie against Carleton Sports.

Both teams were commended for the manner in which this game was played following the earlier abandonment.

In the Morrison Cup Grassington United switched to their opponents ground at Horton sealing a 6-0 win with goals from Kevin Newhouse (3), Jeremy Gee, Stuart Gee and Robert Ellliott.

Hellifield Sports defeated their Westmoreland League visitors Dent FC 3-0 who have registered comments that will be discussed at tonight’s executive meeting of the Craven FA.

Cononley Sports had another blank Saturday when their pitch was ruled unfit against Pendle Renegades while in the Norman Pratt Trophy holders Rimington’s tie at Skipton LMS was another victim.

Settle United reserves booked a home tie against Cononley Sports reserves with a 4-2 victory at Skipton Town reserves.
