Even the weather turned on struggling Skipton as they suffered another miserable defeat.
Thunder, lightning and tor-ential, horizontal rain, made for the most unleasant playing conditions of the season.
It was a familiar story for Skipton as they were forced to field a young and inexper-ienced side.
There were some shafts of light to lift the gloom.
Ryan Ridehalgh, playing in the centres, made his markCharlie Brown impressed again and Stephen Cuthbert made good ground whenever he was given the ball.
Rotherham were well drilled and organised.
They were also very adept at turning ball over. Although Skipton were well beaten they did keep battling away and were twice unlucky to see attacks halted near the Phoenix line.
