Barnoldswick Town and Silsden will be hoping the weather doesn’t continue to hamper their attempts to climb the North West Counties Premier Division table.

Town’s home game with Stockport Sport was washed out last Saturday leaving them with 12 matches still to play as they look to improve on their current 14th position.

They are due to visit Congleton Town this Satur-day before entertaining Boot-le on Tuesday.

Silsden, who are hovering just three points above the relegation zone, face a hectic end to the season.

They still have 16 fixtures to play and they also have two games planned for the coming week.

A home encounter with AFC Liverpool on Saturday is followed by a trip to Premier Division new boys West Didsbury and Chorlton on Tuesday.

l Rimington FC holders of the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup represented the county last Saturday in the Northern Counties Senior Competition.

They were involved in a close-fought game with Humberside League champ-ions Beverley Town who defeated them 1-0 with a 75th minute penalty.

Rimington are in a tran-sitional period after a decade which has seen them win the East Lancashire League and winners of the Craven Cup on several occasions.
