Runcorn Town 3, Silsden 0
The Cobbydalers suffered yet another defeat on the road when they were easily beaten at promotion chasing Runcorn Town in the North West Counties League Premier Division.
Silsden had a few players missing but would still have expected to have put in a better performance.
The home side were pleased with the comfortable win, which lifted them to third, after having had a tough midweek game.
Town broke the deadlock following a 15th-minute throw-in that was headed into the path of Mark Keddie, who netted with a looping shot on the volley.
Keddie doubled the home side’s advantage right on the half-hour when he bundled in the rebound after Cobbydalers’ keeper Ed Hall had parried a shot.
Runcorn put the gloss on their win on the hour when a free-kick found substitute Jason McShane, and he netted a sumptuous volley.
