Victoria Wilkinson maintained her impressive run of form with a record-breaking performance in the Coniston Fell Race.

The Hebden runner shattered the women’s course record by an astonishing 3mins 40secs.

The previous best time had stood for 18 years until Wilkinson powered round the course in 1hr 17min 11 sec.

Her victory in the second counting event for this year’s English Fell Running Championships came just a week after she led the women home in the Three Peaks Race.

The Great Britain international was 43rd overall and was a massive five minutes ahead of thesecond woman to finish.

The race was won by Helm Hill’s Tom Addison in 1hr 07min 57sec.

Sam Watson was 13th, one place ahead of fellow Wharfedale Harrier Ted Mason. Jack Smith was 30th and Nick Charlesworth 40th.
