RETIRING secretary Tina Hirst received a special award at the Mastab’s Craven League’s annual meeting at Skipton Rugby Club.

She was presented with the Bill Huck Memorial Trophy in recognition for her ten years of service.

Chairman Gerry Aldersley, who won the Administration Trophy, praised the work Mrs Hirst has done to promote the league and modernise its administration.

The new secretary will be Jan Elder, who was elected at the meeting to join an otherwise unchanged management team.

There will be two new teams in the league next season with Barnoldswick Wanderers and Trawden Celtic Reserves joining the competition which will have just four divisions, three with 12 teams and one of 14.

Trawden Celtic’s Ben Gorman won the Premier Division player of the year and leading marksman awards.

John Beckwith, a key figure in Settle United’s Division One and West Riding Challenge Trophy double, was Division One’s top scorer, while the top player accolade went to Gargrave’s Liam Jameson.

The AFC Colne duo of Daniel Conway and Jake Hart were player of the year and leading marksman respectively in Division Two.

Aamir Zulfi of Grindleton was Division Three’s top player while Aaran Abbas of FC Sporting Keighley took the prize for most goals.

In Division Four the Horton duo of Stephen Marsden and Frank Jackson were Player of the Year and leading goalscorer respectively.
