Settle racked up their biggest win of the season when they defeated Brinscall by 185 runs in the Senior League at Marshfield.

The home team lost the toss but were delighted to be put in as Robbie Davidson responded with 56 in a 110-run partnership with pro Imran Khalid (66), each man hitting a six and six fours on the way.

Laurence Read then carried on the great work with53 from just 45 balls. Jack Harrison upped the pace down the order with a rapid 25, as a total of 251

Brinscall started comfortably enough with an opening stand of 28 but lost eight wickets for 21 as they crashed to 49-9 facing the spin pair of Khalid and Andrew Davidson.

The pro took a spectacular 6-24 in his 14 overs, while the old stager Davidson was virtually unplayable, bagging three wickets in four overs at a cost of just seven runs.

David Worthington claimed two stumpings and Umaid Sajjid took a wicket and a catch, but the slow bowlers condemned the visitors to 67 all out in 28 overs.

Six of Brinscall's batsmen could not score a single run between them. Next week's match at Baxenden will be a closer contest, with both teams in the top half of the Senior League on four wins apiece though Settle have a game in

Great Harwood won the toss and elected to bat at the Applegarth, Ex Professional for Brooksbottom Alan Armer and Paul Houldsworth got them off to a flyer putting on 83 for the first wicket in 15 overs.

Earby were looking at chasing 250+ at this stage, Lee Parkinson did as he has done so often this year and broke a partnership, he had Houldsworth caught behind by Matt Garner for 41.

Danny Kegg and Ian White had a bowl with no success and it wasn't until the introduction of the pro Dave Crotty in the 25th over that Earby had their second success. In his first over he had Freddie Timmins caught behind and Armer caught by Sam Munns for 61.

The Great Harwood pro Jack Wildermuth (24) and Charles Fernando (27) took the score to 169 before Crotty won the battle of professioanls and had Wildermuth caught again by Munns.

The returning Craddock clean bowled Fernando with the score on 181. The visitors tail of five folded like a pack of cards from then adding just eight more before Craddock and Crotty mopped up those last five for a target of 190 to win. Craddock ended with 4 for 49 and Crotty 4 for 27 off nine overs.

The visitors opened with their professional Jack Wildermuth and he struck immediately having Chris Walton caught behind second ball, Crotty joined Sam Munns at the wicket but disaster soon struck, with 12 on the board, Munns (10) was caught again off the Harwood Pro.

Danny Kegg was clean bowled first ball and Earby were in trouble. Fast scoring Matt Wilson hit 17 including four boundaries until he became Wildermuths fourth victim.

Rory Robinson came and went for five. Paul Houldsworth was introduced into the attack and surely put the final nail in the Earby coffin, trapping Crotty lbw for a patient 24.

Andrew Jaggers dug in and kept the board crawling along but the Earby chase ran out of steam when Craddock (7) went followed by Jaggers for 24, Wildermuth made Garner (4) his fifth victim and Houldsworth Bowled Ian White to complete the win. Lee Parkinson the not out batsman on 8.

Wildermuth had five for 49, Fernando two for 41 and Houldsworth three for 13 off 6.

Cheery tree skipper Dan Fish won the toss and put Earby in to bat, a decision he must have regretted later in the day.

Simon Daggers opened the attack against Jake Greenbank and Sam Munns, he struck fourth ball removing Greenbank for two.

Martyn Windle joined Munns and the pair never looked in danger against a very young Cherry Tree side.

Dagger bowled his nine over spell for 35 which didn't seem too bad but the Earby batsmen went to town on the rest of the attack. William Hayes went for 65 off ten, Nick Riley 56 off his spell.

Munns and Windle went almost blow for blow, passing their half centuries within an over or two of each other but continued to pile on the agony.

The Earby pair added 217 before Munns eventually went but not before he had completed his century off 130 deliveries. He was caught for 110 off George Rowe.

Martyn Windle was poised on 99 to celebrate his own personal landmark when young Amaan Ughradar came on to bowl and unbelievably Windle popped a catch to square leg. He trudged off that one run short of the magical ton.

If Cherry tree thought the punishment was over, how wrong they were. Jason Lockley and Rory Robinson decided they were going to have some fun and accelerated the scoring rate, adding a hundred runs in the last nine overs.

Entering the final over, they were both on 46. A quick chat and sure enough they both made the half century, Robinson off the last ball. Lockley made 51 off 31 balls and Robinson 52 off 30, leaving Cherry Tree needing 327 to win.

The visitors had clearly decided at the interval that they had no chance of the win and would use it as 'good practice'.

Opener Jack Woolridge and Amaan Ughradar played very straight and correctly but with little attack.

They added 43 for the first wicket but in a painfully slow 19 overs, the introduction of Jason Lockley put an end to all that.

Hhe removed Ughradar for nine off 64 balls and Woolridge for 34. He was the only Cherry Tree batsman to reach double figures. From that point on it was a sad procession of batsmen and in the 39th over it was all over.

Lockley took 5 for 12 off seven overs, Adam Yates 3 for 9 and Luke Hipgrave 2 for 13.
