CROSSHILLS A produced a fine performance to defeat third-placed Keighley A 9-3 but they remain ten points behind leaders Cononley A in the Walker Foster Division One.

Crosshills A had seven winners in a 183-160 aggregate victory, led by Phil Dowgill 21-6 and Paul Kay 21-8. It means they are now eight points ahead of Keighley.

The Crosshills side also had a comfortable 12-0 home win 12-0 over bottom club Oakworth.

It means that Phil Dowgill, 14 wins, and Andrew Tate (17) both remain undefeated.

Leaders Cononley A defeated Keighley B 11-1and away at Lund Park A 10-2.

They also have two unbeaten players in John Parkin with 15 wins and Graham Reay (10), but it's Dowgill who heads the averages with plus 12.57.

Keighley A did regroup when they defeated their B team 12-0 to keep a healthy 20-point gap between themselves and Craven A

with an 11-1 home win over Lund Park A and a 9-3 victory at Broughton Road A.

Devon A also moved up with a 8-4 win at Gargrave A and 11-1 at home to Silsden P F A. Silsden have been the losers recently as their good early season form as fallen away with only one win in five, two more 8-4 defeats at home to Sutton A and away at Colne Cricket as seen them drop to sixth place. Colne Cricket are seventh while Gargrave A remain in the top half of the table.

In the Andrew Town Joinery division two the top two met at Devon, Colne Legion A arrived with a strong side to take on second placed Devon B. The match saw Legion take three winners in the first four with Kevin Bond 21-10 best, Devon came back with four winners led by skipper Howard Baker 21-6.

But a strong finish from Colne with the final two winners, meant a 7-5 win for Devon B, but Colne Legion head back Lancashire with a 9 point lead at the top. Devon B had a chance to close the gap with a trip to Silsden P F B, the 7-5 defeat reduced Colne's lead to 4 points both teams played 15 games.

Rolls Royce, Cononley B and Steeton A looked to close the gap on the top two, but poor results left the top two clear. Rolls Royce suffered two 8-4 defeats away at Steeton A and home to Crosshills A, Steeton A beat Rolls but lost 8-4 at Whinfield A, while Cononley B won away at Broughton Road B 9-3, but a 7-5 home win over Lund Park B was a bit disappointing. So Cononley B move up to third, Steeton A are fourth while Rolls Royce slip to fifth, Crosshills B moved up a place to sixth with their fifth win on the trot.

Steve Hounslow from Rolls Royce remains undefeated with 14 wins and a plus 11.07, team mate David Turner as had one defeat, but as plus average of 10.43, while S Smith from Colne Legion B as played 10 without defeat.

The Skipton Building Society division three sees a really close tussle at the top, Whinfield B lead the way on 102 points after two 7-3 wins, at home to the Whinfield C team, then away at Keighley C. Steeton B closed the gap to 1 point with a 7-3 win at Addingham B, then a 10-0 win over the Steeton C team. Addingham A went down 6-4 at Sutton B, then beat the Addingham C team 7-3, to slip down to third place just one point behind Steeton B. The top three teams are at present well clear of fourth placed Settle B and Keighley C while Sutton B have games in hand. At the top of the averages Shaun Beaumont of Addingham A remains unbeaten with 12 wins and a plus average of 10.08.
