LEADERS Oakworth and relegation-threatened Thornton were frustrated when the rain washed out their crucial Division One clash.

Second-placed Ingrow St John’s were involved in a thriller down the road at Crossflatts.

In a 40 over per side game, the Saints roared to 68-0 from nine overs, before rain interrupted play.

On the restart they only added 74 more runs to reach 142 all out with Babar Khan making 44 and Sarum Qureshi (44) as Mohammed Adil claimed 5-71 and Feyaz Akram (4-57).

The Rhysworth Park side struggled in reply and when 7pm arrived there were still 26 overs to go. The Saints managed to bowl 22 overs in the last hour and reduced ten-man Crossflatts to 74-8 with three overs to go.

Steven George and Jamie Hodgson doggedly held out to force a draw.

Barrowford had reached 50-0 after 12 overs at Bingley Congs before play was curtailed.

It was a similar story at Riddlesden where Haworth put the home side in and they had reached 67-2 off 10 overs with Rinki Sainh hitting 57no.

Fourteen overs play were possible at the Coliseum, where Cowling had reached 37-1 against Foulridge.

Glusburn must have thought they had done all the hard work at Chatburn when they had shot the Division Two leaders out for just 56 with Nick Williamson taking 5-19 and David Atkinson (5-27).

The Ribble Valley side snapped back to have the Park Field side back in the hut for a paltry 39. Only Williamson (17) reached double figures as Jonny Lockley (6-17) and Andy Booth (4-19) wreaked havoc.

Second-placed Sutton had to settle for a point at home to Oakworth II.

Hepworth & Idle did their chances of surviving in the division a world of good when they beatt Long Lee by 54 runs to move out of the bottom two spots.

Tim Shackleton (102 ) was their batting hero as they made 177 with two balls of their allotted 30 overs to go as Jonathan Green claimed 5-52 and David Collins (4-57). Shahbaz Ahmed made 31 as the Golden View side replied with 123-7.

Leaders Gargrave saw only 14 overs of play in their Division Three game at Wagon Lane in which time they had reached 40-2.

Skipton CI and Airedale climbed above Ingrow St John’s II. The former were at Thornton and dismissed the home side for 128.

Paul Ellis made 51 as Sam Smith took 4-50 and Darren Pighills (3-18).

The reply was clinical as Ian Henderson (75no) and Ian Burke (50no) took the Sandylands team to a ten-wicket victory in only 22.5 overs.

Airedale whipped Pendle Forest out for 61 at Bradford Road with Martin Casey 4-23 and Saqib Javaid (4-26) doing the damage. The home side then struggled to reach their target, stumbling to 57-8. Waris Ismail faced 50 balls for 12no which saw his side to victory in the 27th over

Ingrow St John’s II entertained Cononley and rattled up 185-7 declared with Arfan Mahmood hitting 65no and Abid Hussain (44). The visitors got home by six wickets thanks to a super knock of 98no from Andrew Starkey and 43 from Joel Grainger.

Division Four leaders Riddlesden II had Haworth II on the rack at 64-6 when play ceased in Bronte land.

Hepworth & Idle II took the opportunity to close within one point of the leaders by beating Foulridge II by 76 runs.

Denholme II raced to 201-2 in 28 overs with Adrian Shires hitting a magnificent 119no, Cameron Foster (44) and Callum Gerrard (30no). Visitors Crossflatts II were then shot out for 52 with Neil Spencer taking 4-14.

Airedale II had made 126-3 at Oakworth III where play stopped. Alfie Raistrick (4-12) and Stephen Timperley (4-24) helped Eldwick & Gilstead dismiss Glusburn for 66 at Park Field.

Then the latter made 26no and Michael Brodigan 29no (one six and five fours) to see the visitors to the spoils by nine wickets in just 9.3 overs.

Ingrow II and Bingley Congs II figured in a time limit draw.

Division Five leaders Chatburn II shot Gargrave II for 65 with Travis Blezard taking 5-15 and Chris Mulhearn (4-22). The Ribble Valley side then crashed to 58 all out as Will Smith took 5-26 and Ben Wood (4-14).

Gargrave II's victory saw them jump over Sutton II into second spot as the Royd Hill side only saw seven overs of play at Skipton CI.

Haworth WE were sailing along on 100-0 at Cononley II with Harry Sherlock on 51no and Paul Calvert on 47no, when rain stopped play.

Steve Dalby hit 85no and skipper Ben Davy (43) as Cowling II made 172-2 before declaring at Long Lee II.

The Golden View side had made 121-7 when the 8pm deadline arrived and the spoils were shared.
