Simon Bailey romped to victory in the Burnsall Fell Race on Sunday.
The Mercia Fell Runners member finished 11 seconds ahead of Appletreewick’s British champion Ted Mason, with Wharfedale Harriers’ Sam Watson in third place.
The first lady finisher was Wharfedale’s Kirstry Hall who was 30th overall after a good run.
Thomas Nelson of Wharfedale Harriers continued his dominance of the under-17 boys section by holding off the challenge of Keighley & Craven’s James Lund. Matthew Merrick of Bingley Harriers was third. Katherine Lawson of Helm Hill was the first girl, finishing ahead of Bingley Harriers’ Victoria Merrick.
Euan Brennan of Ilkley Harriers finished seven seconds clear of Keighley & Craven’s Joe Hudson in the under-14 race, while Briony Holt (Clayton le Moors) was first girl ahead of Wharfedale Harriers’ Emily Jones and the Settle Harriers runner Eve Hutchinson.
