Embsay under-12s carried on their wining form in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League with a storming 6-0 win over Wilsden.
An unstoppable volley from Sam Preece got the ball rolling and he was soon celebrating his hat-trick. He won a penalty and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 4-0 and Matt Speak's penalty and a corker from Josh Ling completed the scoring.
THis weekend, Embsay thrashed Bingley Barca 8-0.
The prolific Preece grabbed another rapid hat-trick. Strike partner Matt Speak converted a fine cross from Harry Bayliff before adding his second and Embsay’s fifth of the half and after the break Speak added two more, while Joe Jeanes curled home a neat shot.
Bolton Woods under-17s edged a close encounter with Embsay Juniors.
Their first goal was well taken and came after a period of relatively sustained pressure and the second came from the penalty spot.
Woods were awarded a second penalty shortly after when an Embsay player handled inside the area but keeper Alfie Brear pulled off a magnificent save to keep them in the game.
Woods then went down to ten men with about 15 minutes to go after their striker received a second yellow card but Embsay were unable to make their one-man advantage count.
They will have to become more clinical in front of goal if they are to survive in this competitive league.
