BRADLEY teenager Jamie Ridehalgh took on the country's top 25 youth cyclists in round one of the Revolution Track Racing Series at the Olympic Velodrome in London.

The 15-year-old prospect, riding in a six-man Polypipe team captained by Olympic pursuit star Steve Burke of Colne, won the first event in the Sir Chris Hoy Future Stars series.

Attacking the bunch in the points race with three sprints remaining, Ridehalgh and Wakefield competitor Reece Wood successfully stayed clear until the end of the race.

Ridehalgh scored wins in the middle two sprints and took third in the last knowing the overall points victory was already his.

The Ermysted's Grammar School pupil will take a top-three placing in the Hoy Future Stars overall competition to his home track in Manchester for round two at the end of November.
