EMBSAY are off the bottom of the Mastab's Craven League Premier Division after notching their first win of the season.

Man of the match David Greenwood (2) and James Mole were the Embsay heroes as they beat visitors Cowling 3-1 to jump above Earby Town, who lost 7-0 at home to second-placed Trawden Celtic.

Meanwhile, Cononley Sports confirmed their status as the best of the rest.

The winners seem likely to come from the top six, who are separated by only three points, but Sports climbed a place to seventh on the back of a 3-3 draw at sixth-placed Skipton LMS.

A Craig Gregory hat-trick earned Sports their draw at the defending champions, but Elliot Hollings was the visitors' man of the match.

Shaun Airey (2), Lee Walker and substitute Liam Swanson were on target for third-placed Settle United in their 4-0 home victory over Grindleton, while Sam Harrison (3), Matthew Blackwell and man of the match Ben Harrison netted for leaders Rolls, who won 5-3 at former leaders Grassington United, whose best player was Jack Schindler.

In Division One, Skipton Town remain top, despite being held 1-1 at home by Pendle Renegades.

Luke Lockwood was on target for Town, whose man of the match was Michael Conroy.

Silsden Whitestar won a tight encounter 2-1 at AFC Colne to stay third.

Mark Bradley and Simon Cox found the net for the visitors, with John Berry taking the man of the match honours.

Craig Ebbrell netted all four goals for basement boys Cononley Sports Reserves but ended up on the wrong end of a 9-4 defeat at home to second-placed Gargrave, for whom man of the match Matthew Simpson scored eight.

Man of the match Paul McDowell scored both goals for Rolls, who climbed a place to ninth on the back of a 2-1 home victory over Ingrow & Worth Valley, while depleted Bradley, who are tenth, went down 3-0 at Chatburn, despite keeper James Monkhouse being in fine form.

Man of the match Andy Tanner bagged his third hat-trick in four games to help Broomhill climb from sixth to fourth on the back of a 5-2 home victory over Skipton LMS Reserves in Division Two, Mark Bradley and Simon Cox netting for the John Berry-inspired losers.

Joshua Smith won the award for basement club Sutton, who lost their eighth match in as many outings, this time by 6-1 at home to leaders Grassington United Reserves.

Division Three leaders Carleton upped their goals-per-game average to almost six after a 10-1 thrashing of visitors Barnoldswick Barons.

Leon Binney (3), Ben Teal (2) and Daniel Thompson (2) led the way, Joshua Banks, Robert Bradley and Gareth Lord making up the tally, Andrew Wilkinson winning the man of the match award for Barons.

Bradley Reserves' third victory of the season was by 7-2 at home to Barlick Wanderers, goals for the winners coming from man of the match Liam Wheeler (2), Tom Wilson (2), Chris Hogg, Tom Pilling and substitute Jack Roberts.

Aaron Brunton was Cowling Reserves' man of the match in a 3-0 defeat at third-placed Pendle Renegades Reserves, while basement club Sutton Reserves lost 8-0 at Trawden Celtic Reserves.
