MAN of the match Andy Tanner bagged his third hat-trick in four games to help Broomhill climb from sixth to fourth on the back of a 5-2 home victory over Skipton LMS Reserves in Craven League Division Two.

The Badgers found themselves one up inside five minutes, with Tanner rounding the keeper and placing the ball home off both posts.

Five minutes later, winger Joe Slater doubled the lead with a superb 20-yard lob off his weaker left foot before LMS halved the deficit.

However, captain Patrick King and Tom Hill’s industry in midfield and marauding full back Chris Reynolds helped Broomhill to regain control and, ten minutes before half-time, Tanner again rounded the keeper but was brought down, earning the keeper a red card.

The referee awarded a free-kick rather than a penalty but Tanner curled it into the stand-in keeper’s far corner.

Striker Simon Harris was brought on at half-time and cashed in on LMS hesitation to prod the ball into an open net. Tanner completed his hat-trick but Broomhill lost composure to concede a second goal.

FC Polonia, who are second on goal difference, beat Earby Town Reserves 8-0 at Marley Stadium, with Pizemyslaw Witch striking four times.

Joshua Smith won the man of the match award for basement club Sutton, who lost their eighth match in as many outings, this time by 6-1 at home to leaders Grassington United Reserves.

Ingrow & Worth Valley Reserves suffered only their second defeat of the season in Division Three, hosts Addingham Reserves triumphing 4-3.

Man of the match Kyle Todd, Kain O’Driscoll and substitute David Harman bagged Ingrow’s goals.

Aaron Brunton was Cowling Reserves’ man of the match in a 3-0 defeat at third-placed Pendle Renegades Reserves, while Bradley Reserves’ third victory of the season was by 7-2 at home to Barlick Wanderers, man of the match Liam Wheeler and Tom Wilson scoring two apiece.
