TEENAGE darts starlet Ryan “Boggo” Hoggarth has lifted the biggest title of his fledgling career.

The 18-year-old from Skipton won the Redtooth darts National Finals in Sheffield which carries a first prize of £1,000.

He also secured a place at Qualifying School where he will attend in January in the hope of securing a place on the Professional Darts Corporation tour for 2015.

Hoggarth, who represents Yorkshire Youth as well as playing in local leagues in the Craven and Settle areas, won his way to Redtooth finals in the regional qualifier at Keighley.

His form at Sheffield was impressive. In the last 16 he gave his rivals an indication of what to expect as he brushed aside last year's winner Bob Fuller 4-1.

Wayne Ellams was swept aside 5-1 in the quarter-final as he secured a last-four showdown with the Sheffield player Brian Lewis which he won 6-3.

Three 180s were key to his 7-3 win over Londoner Michael Power in the final.
