West Riding County Cup.

The reward for last season's West Riding County Challenge Trophy winners is a home game on Saturday, February 7 against the winners of the Oxenhope and Howden Clough tie which was abandoned after 35 minutes with Oxenhope 3-1 up.

On a heavy pitch, Settle took the lead after five minutes. A long clearance up field was inadvertently headed on by the Rimington full back in to the path of Beckwith who raced clear, his initial shot was saved but the ball rebounded back to Beckwith who made no mistake second time of asking.

Rimington then controlled the game for the next 20 minutes, a series of crosses and free kicks were delivered in to the Settle area with out really testing SamArrowsmith in the visitors goal.

Although Rimington enjoyed the majority of possession, Settle kept looking dangerous on the break. Shots from Beckwith and Dave Worthington went close but the best chance to increase their lead fell to Danny Bathers who fired over the bar when maybe he should have scored.

Rimington kept up the pressure in the second half and hit the foot of the post from a left-foot shot from the edge of the box.

Settle increased their lead on the hour mark when a through ball by Shaun Airey caused a mix up in the home team's defence and Beckwith nipped in to score.

Rimington's best chance came from a corner but Arrowsmith produced a fine dividing save to keep the ball out.

Settle's final goal came from the penalty spot, after Beckwith was upended by Kershaw when through on goal. Beckwith dusted himself off and calmly fired home the spot kick.

With the game almost over Settle had further chances to increase their lead. Will Beckwith missed the best opportunity when he shot wide.
