BARNOLDSWICK adult novice Cliff Camfield managed to hang onto his Scorpa machine and ride every one of sections without penalty in round three of the Bradford DMC Autowbars Championship at gale-swept Rough Holden Farm, Silsden, on Saturday.
It was a close call as Camfield had Keighley boys Joe Fox and Jacob Snowdon snapping at his heels. Snowdon lost his only penalty on the first lap while section eight of lap two was where Fox dropped a point.
Bradford youth Aaron Carter completed the leaderboard behind Pontefract adult Phillip Frizzell and Catterick's Chris Laws.
Fox won Youth Class A and Snowdon Youth Class B, while Addingham's Edward Earle took the C Class.
East Keswick youngster Harry Hemingway excelled on the 50/50 route winning from adult John Spensley and Buxton Class C contender Harry Turner.
Ten of the 15 competitors were national youth division contenders who will compete at Howden Clough on February 21 in the first championship trial of the year.
Skipton's Josh Pearson won the beginner's class on his Beta machine. The Class C boy is the great great grandson of former factory and the E Class went to young Fraiser Lampkin.
