HORTON FC recorded a rare Morrison Cup success by winning 2-1 at Barnoldswick Barons.

Two second-half goals from Steve Marsden and Kyle Frik sealed their success.

Gargrave’s player-manager Jonathan Chapman, who managed to raise a side despite the bulk of his regulars being unavailable, saw his men lose 5-1 at home to Pendle Renegades.

Matthew Brennand was their lone scorer while Jake Palmer, Jason Wright, Shane Taylforth, Joe Brown and Matt Bowker were on target for Renegades.

Barnoldswick Town (EL) were in control from the start against Sedbergh Wanderers but had to wait until the 33rd minute before they opened the scoring with a 25-yard free kick from Damon Whelan.

Sedbergh Wanderers equalised immediately, but Town regained the lead through Luke Scott.

The visitors looked threatening on the break but Kieran Lee’s emphatic finish gave the home side a comfortable 3-1 lead.

Ingleton Reserves won their semi-final battle with Grindleton Reserves in the Norman Pratt Trophy.

The only goal came from an in-swinging corner which Jonathan Lister guided in. The visitors tried hard to get back into the game but Ingleton held on to reach the final.

The acute shortage of referees was highlighted in the Cononley Reserves v Bradley Reserves tie. Cononley’s junior manager Dale Mason stepped in to officiate, an act which has been praised by the Craven FA who also thanked the teams for their co-operation.

Bradley took an early lead through Miles Thompson only for the home side to hit back to lead 2-1.

Thompson scored his second to make it 2-2. Bradley took a grip in the second half when Thompson completed his hat-trick and Andy Hardeman (2) sealed a 5-3 win.
