SKIPTON swimmers smashed eight club records while competing in last weekend’s ASA Stockport Metro Meet.
Three of them fell to the impressive Lauren Hanson in the under-16 girls age group.
She took five seconds off the previous best times in the 100m butterfly where she clocked 1min 9.20sec and 200m freestyle in 2:18.40. The club record in the 200m had stood for ten years.
For good measure she shave a second off the 50m butterfly best set by Julia Scriven in 2009 as she returned a time of 30.50.
Edward Sharpe had an outstanding weekend with wins in the boys 12 years 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.
Ben Housley got in on the record-breaking act. His times of 32.20 in the under-17 50m backstroke and 4:45.20 in the 400m freestyle, were both club bests.
A time of 1:15.40 in the under-17 girls 100m backstroke saw Lucy Ward get her name in the club record book, along with Hannah Raistrick who clocked 29.80 in the under-13 50m freestyle to take second place.
Bea Waller had swam well and made it to the final of the girls under-14 100m backstroke and came seventh in 01:13.80, fantastic result.
