WILL Storrie played well but Cross Hills lost their top-of-the-table clash in the Craven League Premier Division 1-0 at second-placed Rolls.

This makes the hosts even more likely to win the championship as they trail the south Craven club by six points but have three games in hand, while third and fourth-placed Skipton LMS and Settle United can't be discounted either with their matches in hand.

United climbed from sixth to fourth on the back of an 11-1 thrashing of basement boys Embsay.

John Beckwith (4), Shaun Airey (2), Luke Hepton (2), Elliot Firth, David Worthington and Daniel Bathers were on the mark for Settle, whose man of the match was Will Simpson, Ben Lowry getting Embsay's reply and David Greenwood being their man of the match.

Luke Howsen (3) and Alex Conroy scored for third-placed LMS as visitors Wilsden Athletic were beaten 4-0.

At the other end of the table, Cononley Sports lost 4-3 at home to Earby Town, Robert Kaminski (2) and Craig Ebbrell netting, with Reece Fowler being the losers' man of the match.

At least, Sports received a home walkover from next-to-bottom Cowling on Tuesday of last week.

Bottom club Sutton notched what was only their second league win of the season last Wednesday when they defeated fifth-placed visitors Polonia 4-2 in the Second Division.

Man of the match Lukasz Sarosinski (2), Jakoslaw Makhowski and substitute Jack Shaw were Sutton's marksmen, while Macilj Gawrydi and Sebastian Miler replied, with Daniel Trojan their man of the match.

Third-placed Grassington United Reserves lost 4-2 at home to Broomhill, who climbed to second.

John Allan and man of the match Adam Steventon were on target for United, whose first team lost 2-1 at Trawden Celtic in a Premier Division Cup semi-final, while Gargrave were beaten 3-2 at Manningham All Stars in a Northern Plant Hire Trophy quarter-final

Goals from man of the match Chris Hogg and Robbie Smith could not prevent a 5-2 home defeat for Bradley in the First Division, but Cross Hills Reserves enjoyed a 3-1 home win over basement boys Sutton Reserves in the Third Division, Shaw netting for Sutton, whose gong winner was Danny Waterfield.

Jack Forbes-Sedgwick won both man-of-the-match awards for Cowling Reserves in their 4-1 defeat at Ilkley, while Jamie Fryers did best for Bradley Reserves in their 10-0 setback at home to leaders Carleton.

On target for the latter were Robert Bradley (4), Stuart Gee (3), Joshua Banks, Stuart Hunn and substitute Stephen Cox. Gareth Lord was their man of the match.

Richard Greenhalgh's brace was not enough to save Barnoldswick Barons in their 4-2 defeat at Trawden Celtic Reserves, Ricky Divito being man of the match for the losers.

First Division Ingrow & Worth Valley are through to the quarter-finals of the league's blue-riband event – the Northern Plant Hire Trophy.

They bridged 13 places in the league pyramid to defeat visitors Grindleton 3-0 and will now be at home to Grassington United, another top-flight club, on Wednesday, April 22 (6.15) for the right to face Trawden Celtic or Skipton LMS in the last four.
