The girls over-15 4 x 2 freestyle team crowned another good night for Skipton in the Airedale & Wharfedale Swimming Championships at Guiseley with a record-breaking performance.

Beth Lilley (29.32sec), Ellie Phillip (31.26), Millie Sharp (30.48) and Lauren Hanson (29.04) claimed the gold medal in a new championship best time of 2min.00.10sec.

It was one of four victories for the Skipton squad. They also collected six silvers and four bronze medals as the A team took the lead in the overall Silver Jubilee Championship Trophy standings. Skipton B are in sixth place.

Megan Baines also holds first place for the 12 years and under swimmer of the year trophy with Niamh Mirfield in third place. Ben Housley is joint second for the 13 years and over swimmer of the year trophy.

Mirfield provided the team with their one individual gold medal. She won the girls 11/12 years two lengths breaststroke with a time of 42.60.

It meant she won the Carter Parker Trophy for the second year in a row and she was joined on the podium by her club mates Baines and Ellen Wright who were second and third respectively with times of 49.92 and 42.99.

The remaining two gold medals came from relay successes. Mirfield was part of the 11/12 years girls 4 x 2 medley team that won the Aire Wharfe Shield with a time of 2.34.65. She was joined in the winning line up by Madison Turner, Paige Fenton and Baines.

The mixed over 15s 4 x 2 freestyle team of Hanson (29.09), Housley (27.60), Millie Sharpe (30.03) and Mark Mahoney (26.29) combined to win the Sidney Cooper Trophy with a time of 1.53.01.

The other silver medals went to Abigail Newton in the girls 13/14 butterfly in 35.18, Harvey Pennington in the 9/10 years boys backstroke in 45.34, Ben Housley, boys over 15 freestyle in 1.00.26 and men's open individual medley in 1.10.79, and Baines in the ladies open 4 x 1individual medley in 1.10.79.
