SKIPTON’S Club Championship produced a titanic struggle between David Grant and Robert Nesbitt .
Nesbitt took an early lead in the morning round but it was Grant who was one up at the turn and two up stood on the 17th tee.
Nesbitt finished strongly to make it all square after the first 18 holes.
The afternoon followed the same pattern, Nesbitt again taking an early lead but Grant fought his way back to be up at the turn.
Nesbitt, playing some solid golf, crucially won holes 10, 13 and 15 to be two up playing the 17th and closed out a 2&1 winner.
The Rabbits knockout final was contested by Dave Daggett and Rabbits captain Dr Ross Adley.
Daggett ,who recently lost in the Barrett Cup final, suffered a similar fate after being well down at the turn following Adley's usual steady golf. Daggett fought back but Adley steadied the ship to win 4&3.
