National League One: Plymouth Albion 30 Wharfedale 10

THIS latest defeat put Wharfedale on the brink of relegation as they are 11 points from safety with only 15 available.

However, for the first 20 minutes it looked as if the Greens were going to carry on the form they had shown in the previous two weeks.

Jamie Guy kicked a penalty after eight minutes to put Dale on the scoreboard, and, although Matthew Shepherd replied in kind four minutes later, Wharfedale scrum half Phil Woodhead soon nipped through the Albion defence to score, with Guy adding the conversion.

However, a Shepherd penalty and his conversion of prop Christian Judge's try put Plymouth 13-10 in front, and he added a second penalty and improved Thomas Putt's try before half-time.

A battling Wharfedale never really fired in the second half but made Plymouth work hard for the only score of the second half - a converted try from Thomas Bedford.
