SKIPTON'S 27 swimmers set 108 personal best times and achieved 118 top eight positions in both the A & B grades at Harrogate's Spa Town Meet.

Thirteen-year-old Declan Sequira achieved eight personal bests while also taking gold in the A grade 50m and 100m backstroke, silver in the 50m freestyle and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

Fenn Curran won golds in the 50, 100 and 200m freestyle and a bronze in the 100m backstroke.

He also set six personal best times and a club record of 31:06 for the 50m freestyle.

Rachel Leigh marked her first competitive meet with personal bests in each of her seven swims. She took gold in the 400m freestyle where she took 11 seconds off her fastest time.

A silver in the 200m freestyle and bronze medals in both the 200m backstroke and 200m breaststroke were well deserved.

Charlotte Leigh, another gala newcomer, recorded eight personal bests as she won gold medals for 100m and 200m breaststroke with times of 1.27.4 and 3.08.42 respectively.

She also achieved north east regional times in both these events. Charlotte won silver in the 200m individual medley and bronze in the 50m breaststroke.

Jack Jenkinson was the only Skipton swimmer to be given a “Speeding Ticket” over the weekend, when he swam the 50m Free race in 34.94 seconds. He also went on to break a club record for the nine years 200m freestyle with a time of 02:54:68. He achieved four personal bests, four Yorkshire times and won gold at 50m back and 200m freestyle.

Eleven-year-old Molly Jenkinson had personal bests in 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke. She won two B grade silvers at 50m back and 50m breaststroke

Lily Pratt achieved a new Yorkshire qualifying time for 200m backstroke 3:17:09. She also improved her personal best in the 50m backstroke.

Macy Pratt achieved bests in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle while she also gained valuable experience competing in two new events, the 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle.

Harvey Pennington achieved Yorkshire times for 200m backstroke, 200m individual medley and 50m breaststroke.

Kaye Fenton achieved new Yorkshire times for 50m freestyle and 50m backstoke while nine-year-old Fennella Turner came fourth in 50m freestyle as she knocked ten seconds off her personal best. She is now ninth fastest in the country for her event.
