THE Cowling Cup is wide open this year with the top guns having been knocked out.

Sadly there were two more concessions on Sunday, Airedale II to Cowling II and Ingrow St John’s II to Crossflatts II.

The local derby between Cononley II and Glusburn II went the way of the visitors by three wickets. Paul Hogg (44) and Joel Birks (30) had helped the home side to 122-7 in their 20 overs. In reply Richard Parkin (39) led Glusburn to the next round.

Thomas Storr made 43 of Gargrave II’s 99-3 at home to Wilsden II. The Windy Grove side were going great guns at 30-1 off just three overs when the weather intervened. Wilsden II’s Mudasser Riaz was the only bowler to hit the stumps in the bowl out.

Third round draw: Haworth II v Denholme II, Cowling II v Glusburn II, Wilsden II v Bingley Congs II, Crossflatts II v Sandy Lane II (ties to be played Sunday, July 3).
