STEETON went down by six wickets at home to North Leeds as they failed to shake off the inconsistency which has plagued them this season in Division One.

Top scorer for the hosts, who were put in to bat, was Andrew Foulds with an excellent 68 from 100 deliveries with three sixes and six fours.

He put on 61 for the fourth wicket with 40th birthday boy Craig Walton (27) after Adam Hardwick had also made 27.

But Foulds' dismissal at 166-6 sparked a collapse as their final four wickets tumbled for just a further eight runs as Steeton fell one run short of a third batting point on 174 all out.

In reply, a 55-run opening partnership helped keep the visitors always ahead of the game. James Emmott was the pick of the Steeton bowlers with 3-43 as Larry Audain completed a man of the match performance for the visitors with 40, having earlier taken 4-36.

That saw North Leeds home by four wickets in 40.4 overs, leaving Steeton struggling in third-from-bottom spot in the table.

Shahid Nadeem's defiant 50 couldn't save Skipton from a 91-run defeat in their Division Two mid-table clash at Calverley.

The home side made steady progress to their total of 201-7 thanks to Chris Coates (38no), Nav Panesar (27), Ben Waller (25) and Barry McCormick (25). South African Pieter Coetzer was again the pick of the Skipton bowlers with 3-39.

Skipton struggled in reply with only Nadeem standing firm as McCormick (4-37) helped his side to a comfortable win.

Addingham's batting faltered again as they suffered an 18-run defeat against Adel. After being out in to bat, Adel lost three quick wickets before Andy Laws (63) and Nick Smith (47) led a revival which enabled their side to make 166-9.

The dependable Henry Barrow (4-42) and Ricky Palacio (3-18) bowled well but Addingham couldn't cash in with the bat.

Addingham were dismissed for 148 with Ben Brearley (30no) and Ted Haggas (26) proving to be their top scorers. Mark Dixon took 4-28 and Simon Parkinson (3-31).

Silsden may have regretted inviting their hosts to bat in Division Three as Leeds Modernians racked up 284-8.

A fifth-wicket partnership of 133, which was dominated by Jarran Cook (109 in 73 balls), laid the platform as several other Mods batsmen made cameos, including former Leeds United goalkeeper Nigel Martyn (27). Zabeeh Ullah was the plus point for Silsden with 5-65.

The Cobbydalers had no answer in reply as man of the match Cook (3-23) and Mansoor Hussain (4-20) saw them off for just 101.

Upper Wharfedale crashed to a four-wicket defeat in the basement battle with Alwoodley. Mark Shires tookm5-35 as they were dismissed for just 69. Top scorer for Upper Wharfedale was opener Jake Starkey with 18.

Alwoodley did not have things all their own way on a sticky pitch but they still managed to knock off the runs with wickets in hand.
