SKIPTON’s knockout finals continued over the weekend with all of them following a similar pattern.

Clifford Lawson was up against Jason Titorenko in the Rabbits final with the latter taking a lead early at the second hole.

Lawson did get it back to all square but by the turn Titorenko had a two-hole advantage. The crucial shot came on the 11th hole where Titorenko holed a monster putt to go three up on his way to a 3&2 win.

In the Raleigh Hargreaves Mixed Foursomes it was husband and wife team of Caroline and Danny Murphy up against Milly Eaton and David Grant.

It was Eaton and Grant who got off to a good start to be two up after four holes. The match turned into an exhibition of putting as both sides holed from distance to secure birdies at the sixth and Caroline holed a long putt again at the eighth to bring the match back to all square.

By the 16th Eaton and Grant were two up but after some excellent play by the Murphy’s the match stood all square on the 18th tee.

Once again the decisive shot came from the putter blade as Eaton holed from over 20 feet downhill on the last for a birdie to win the title.

The ladies Brooksbank final this time saw Hannah Eaton in action against Amanda Kilner. It was Hannah who struck the early blow winning the first two holes and was five up after the tenth. Amanda briefly fought back taking the next hole but Hannah, who was playing some wonderful golf, held her nerve to see the match out 5&4.
