HALLMARK SECURITY LEAGUE Barnoldswick Town 1 Padiham 2
BARNOLDSWICK Town were scuppered by a last-minute goal in their Premier Division clash at the Silentnight Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Padiham went away with the three points after Garry Hunter stunned the home supporters with his powerful late strike.
Town, fresh from Saturday’s Macron Cup win at West Didsbury & Chorlton, took the lead after 40 minutes when new signing Zack Dale made it two goals in his first two games for him.
Stewart Airdrie’s men retained the advantage until the 64th minute when Marc Young pounced to equalise for the visitors.
Both sides went searching for the winner and it was Hunter who came up with it for Padiham.
Town will be hoping to bounce back over the coming week when they have home games against Bootle on Saturday and Squires Gate on Tuesday.
