Wharfedale 37 Stourbridge 0

WHARFEDALE ran in six tries as they romped to a comfortable win over Stourbridge to ease their National Two North relegation fears.

Excellent kicking from stand off Tom Barrett enabled the Greens to pin the visitors in their 22.

Wharfedale's tackling was an important factor in the match and they held Stourbridge on the gain line and sometimes pushed them back with ferocious encounters.

Josh Burridge crossed for the first try after 20 minutes which Barrett converted.

Harry Bullough finished off a sweeping move for an unconverted try and a Barrett penalty gave Wharfedale a lead of 15-0 at half-time.

Wharfedale burst out of the blocks in the second half and a superb passing move involving forwards and backs saw Burridge finish in the left corner. Barrett was again wayward from the tee.

Scott Jordan pounced on a cross kick for the bonus-point try which was again unconverted.

The speedy Robbie Davidson scored a try under the posts which Jamie Guy converted before Wharfedale finished with another scintillating move involving forwards and backs which led to Richard Rhodes crossing the whitewash.

Guy could not master the wind for the conversion but Wharfedale finished in style keeping Stourbridge scoreless to pocket five valuable points.
