Barnoldswick Town 1 West Didsbury & Chorlton 3

TOWN slipped to their fourth-successive Premier Division defeat at the Silentnight Stadium on Saturday.

They faded badly after a bright first-half performance in which they played some attractive football.

They created a series of chances but a 1-0 half-time lead was a disappointing reward for their attacking play.

Their only goal came after 31 minutes when Romanian striker Aurelian Gohoreanu netted after a superb low cross from John Beckwith.

It was Gohoreanu's first goal since joining the club on loan from Padiham and helped him to take the man of the match accolade.

The tone for the second half was set just two minutes after the break when Saul Henderson netted.

Town never recovered and fell behind when Matthew Kay netted a 54th minute penalty. West Didsbury wrapped up the points with Henderson's second goal nine minutes later.
