SKIPTON’S competition season got under way with some familiar names topping the leaderboards.

Alan Breckon came out on top in Division One of the men’s Bogey Competition.

He had a winning score of 2up and won after a countback with Max Berrisford and Jessie Teiti.

The overall winner was Jason Titorenko on 4up from Division Two, just one ahead of Robin Moule.

The club’s Improvised Trophy, where players are restricted to just three clubs and a putter always produces some interesting results.

Craig Howie was the best from Division One with a nett 67, two ahead of Ian Jolly and David Burn.

Division Two though once again provided the best score of the day with James Freebury romping to victory with an incredible nett 62, ten shots ahead of second-placed Titorenko and Steve Preston.
