Barnoldswick Town 7 Runcorn Town 2

BARNOLDSWICK Town produced one of their best performances of the season to sweep aside their fourth-placed opponents at the Silentnight Stadium last night.

Runcorn won't want to remember the match in a hurry. It should have been played last Wednesday, but was called off after a bad crash on the M6 prevented them getting to Barnoldswick. This time they were simply swept aside by the home team.

Kenny Taylor set the tone for the evening with a fourth minute goal and extended the lead after 36 minutes.

Aaron Hollindrake netted the third a minute later and Zack Dale continued his recent goalscoring form by making it 4-0 just after half-time.

Paul McManus replied for Runcorn before Dale scored his second after 64 minutes.

Runcorn's Craig Cairns was on target after 73 minutes before Jake Lloyd and Elliott Firth rounded off the scoring with two goals in the final minute.

Barnoldswick Town play at home to Barnton tonight.
