BARNOLDSWICK Town have pulled off a coup in signing Burnley under-23 goalkeeper Connor King on loan.

King is an England schoolboy international and has been sent to the North West Counties League top tier side to further his development.

Town manager Danny Craig expressed his delight at the capture, which completes his summer recruitment.

He told the club website: “I’m sure the question of a goalkeeper has been on everyone’s mind most of the close season.

"I have not been as concerned as I have been working on this deal most of the summer. The final arrival is goalkeeper Connor King, who joins us on work experience from Premier League Burnley, where he currently plays for their under-23s development squad.

"Connor was an England under-16s schoolboy international and Burnley see a loan move as the next step in his development.

"It goes without saying he comes with fantastic pedigree and both the club and I feel proud and honoured to been trusted with this vital stage in his development.

"I couldn’t be happier with this signing. I spoke to Connor in the week and he’s excited to get started. I’m looking forward to working with him and watching him develop at our club.”
