THE top-of-the-table clash in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One between Sutton and Ingrow St John’s at Street Lane ended early and disappointingly when play was abandoned after only ten overs with the Saints on 57-2.

Sutton stay top but Ingrow St John's drop to third behind Embsay, who won by one wicket over visitors Oakworth.

The Cure Hill side dashed to 51 in only eight overs before the first wicket fell and then proceeded to 91-2.

From there, however, they lost eight wickets for the addition of only 16.

Drew Duffy top-scored with 41 as Phil Binner (5-27) and Josh Robinson (5-36) did the work with the ball.

The Shires Laners had Morgan Davies (34) to thank mainly for getting them nervously over the line as under-14 Bilaal Khan took 3-22.

Free-scoring Denholme were brought to earth when they could only muster 135, collapsing from 117-3, at Beckfoot Lane.

Toby Priestley made 40 as Harry Greenhalgh (7-31) ripped through the lower order.

Bingley Congs enjoyed an opening stand of 40 between Andrew Copping (38) and Sam Porter (25), but it was all downhill from there as they tumbled to 125, with Joe Greenwood taking 5-13 and Priestley 4-26.

Hepworth & Idle recorded their third win of the season by just two runs to close the gap at the bottom to two points.

No 9 Richard Taylor top scored with a valuable 28 not out to get the Westfield Lane side to 165-9.

Earlier Dave Matthews had scored 22 as Joe Lynch spun his way to 3-51.

Visitors Crossflatts had Alex Bradbury (53) and Lynch (24) to thank for getting them so close in the chase.

The game between Barrowford and Haworth was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Division Two leaders Haworth Road II had a 14-run victory over visitors Glusburn.

Jonathan Crookes (41no), Charlie Hainsworth (40) and Matt Hall (31) helped the hosts to 166-9 as Mohammad Furqan claimed 5-42.

Mark Johnston (40) and No 10 Bryan Hollis (32no) got the Park Field side to 152-9, with Hall taking 4-28.

Two points behind are Wilsden, who enjoyed a 52-run victory over Cowling in a high-scoring game.

The Windy Grove side's Raza Ali 54 (two fours, six sixes) was in the runs again, and Adil Mehmood (39) and Glenn Stableford (38 rtd) helped them to 250-6.

The Coliseum side closed on 198, with Martyn Dalby (59) and Mohammed Arshad (33) being the main contributors as Chris Mitchell took 4-31.

A further point behind are Ingrow,whose game at Chatburn never started.

Airedale enjoyed a four-wicket win at home to Long Lee.

Mark Day (45), Steve Butterfield (41no) and Jan Haider (41) helped the visitors to 166-8, with Scott Ritchie spinning his way to 5-53.

Matt Gill (51) and Simon Hunter (76no, including ten fours and three sixes) put on 81 for the fourth wicket before the latter took his side to the points.

Ingrow St John’s II were hustled out for 77 at Noyna, with Taimoor Mushtaq (5-30) doing most of the damage.

Ummar Farooq (27no) was the backbone of Foulridge’s 78-5.

Oakworth’s skipper got it wrong when he won the toss and asked Sandy Lane II to bat.

The Greenwood Park side thrashed 282-9, with Mukhtar Shah making a superb 117 as Hasnat Bukhari (3-12) and Imran Khan (3-17) did most of the damage with the ball.

Division Three leaders Cononley slipped up at home to bottom side Riddlesden, who thus recorded their first victory of the season.

The South Craveners posted 175 on the back of Scott Brook (63) and Cameron Knowles (55) as Mohammad Shahnawaz took 3-30 and Mohammad Qadeer 3-31.

The Grange Road side galloped home by four wickets with 13 balls to spare, with Dale Pinkerton (47) and Akeel Rashid (39) leading the way.

Gargrave are loitering just a point behind after beating Skipton CI by 110 runs at Sandylands.

Will Smith (48) and Ben Rhodes (38) were the main contributors to Gargrave's 208-8, and the home side were hustled out for just 98.

Embsay II's trip to Thornton-in-Craven proved fruitless as the crashed again, this time by eight wickets.

The Shires Lane side made 152-6, with Jonny Coward (55) and Matt Ellison (29no) being the main contributors.

Then evergreen Kev Pollard (87no) and Tom Cleaver (39no) put on an undefeated 81 for the third wicket as the hosts triumphed.

Barrowford II struggled to 123-9 at Bradley as Andy Holmes (6-37) ran amok.

Caspar Bean (40) and Matt Buckmaster (40) took the Matthew Lane side to victory.

Bradford & Bingley III beat Sandy Lane II by ten wickets, while Bingley Congs II won by two wickets against Eldwick & Gilstead.

Meanwhile, the two-way tussle as the top of Division Four A continues as leaders Sutton II and second-placed Haworth II both won.

Sutton II entertained Airedale II, who made a healthy 178-9, with John Pollard (65), Stuart Maclennan (41) and 'Mr Extras' (32) making good contributions as Justin Holdsworth (3-30) and Zafar Iqbal (3-31) got among the wickets.

Dan Hanson (61) got the Royd Hill side’s reply off to a good start, and then George Blackwell (38no) and Tony Walton (35no) put together a match-winning sixth-wicket partnership.

Haworth II are just two points behind after seeing off Cononley II by 116 runs at West Lane. The hosts made 227, with Charlie Shimmin (91) and Neil Rollins (52) leading the way as Matthew Hogg (6-36) bowled well.

Only Paul Hogg (34) offered much resistance as the visitors closed on 111, with Shimmin (3-31) and Darren Ellerton (3-36) doing most of the damage.

Crossflatts II hang on to third spot after getting the better of Wilsden II by one wicket at Ryshworth Park.

Nick Hahn (42) and 'Mr Extras' (33) were the main contributors to the Windy Grove side's 123 but it took a match-winning last-icket partnership by Will McLaughlan (26no) and Mick Addy (9no) to snatch the points for Crossflatts.

Matt Lancaster (5-13 and 32) was the main man in Chatburn II's seven-wicket victory at Denholme II, while Gargrave II saw off Bingley Congs III by five wickets at Skipton Road. Dave Hemsley (43) and Graeme Love (32) were the backbone of the Beckfoot Lane side's 119 as Will Storr took 4-59 and Tony Spensley 3-19.

Tom Storr (45) helped to guide the home side to the points.

Silsden and Glusburn - the top two sides in Division Four B - met at Keighley Road and the game ended in a resounding win for the leaders by 256 runs.

The home side clattered a massive 291-7, with a superb ton by Andy Pullen (118no), with Nick Firth (62) joining in the fun.

The Park Field side succumbed for 35, with 'Mr Extras' top scoring with 15 as no batsman reached double figures.

Ingrow’s Tony Hodgson (4-30) and Ryan Higgs (4-37) had ten-man Bradley II back in the hut for 69 before Simon Cuncliffe (39no) helped the Hainworth side to the spoils by eight wickets.

The young Oakworth III side were shot out for 33 with no batsman reaching double figures. Mohammed Hussain finished with 4-10 and Will Shuttleworth (3-4), and opponents Skipton CI II cruised home by nine wickets.

Finally Cowling II conceded to Foulridge II, and Long Lee II likewise to Hepworth & Idle II.
