SETTLE'S young cricketers are celebrating after winning the Upper Airedale under-nine league and cup double.
After going through the league season unbeaten, Settle defeated Earby in the cup final.
Settle's decision to bowl first was justified as they claimed eight Earby wickets.
It meant that Earby were restricted to a score of 186 in a competition where each team starts with 200 runs and has five deducted for every wicket lost.
Settle's wicket-taking bowlers included Tommy Mounsey, George Hopley and Theo Green.
Lewis Holgate and Harvey Green each took good catches and there was a run out.
In contrast to their opponents, Settle didn't lose a wicket and finished with a score of 233.
Harvey Green, who scored nine not out, was named man of the match.
