IT'S been a hectic and eventful week at Settle and Giggleswick Golf Club.

The Ladies' bronze team travelled to Sedbergh where they defeated Morecambe in the divisional final.

On the same day the men's team, by securing enough points in their match against Bentham, won the converted Dales League Trophy.

The seniors had an enjoyable away day at the impressive Cookridge Hall course, and on Friday the captain, Frankie Eccleston, held his away day at Heysham, where his brother Peter won the Huntworth Cup by being the top scoring Settle player.

Over the weekend the ladies competed for the Garnett Trophy, which resulted in a comfortable win for the in-form Carol Knowles.

On Sunday there was a good turnout with members competing for the club's Memorial Trophy.

Club captain Frankie Eccleston carded seven pars and two birdies, and this was good enough to hold off Craig Dinsdale's challenge and made him the second recipient of the trophy.
