BARNOLDSWICK Town's FA Cup adventure came to an end in heart-breaking fashion at Throstle Nest on Saturday.

It looked as if they had snatched a replay at The Silentnight Stadium when they fought back to level at 2-2 in the 9oth minute.

However, the game had a sting in the tail. An injury-time error by Town led to Albion snatching a winner.

It was heartbreaking for the Town players and supporters after a battling display against their Northern Counties East League opponents.

Town started the match well and played some neat football before falling behind on the half hour when Alex Cusack scored after a fast counter attack.

Albion doubled their lead two minutes into the second half when goalkeeper Connor King pulled down Danny Facey in the box.

The on-loan Burnley youngster guessed right with the spot kick but Asif Hussain's shot was too powerful and found the net.

Town didn't let their heads drop and were rewarded in the 63rd minute when Joel Melia swivelled on the six-yard line to shoot past Albion keeper Jake Lofthouse and a defender on the line. Town pressed for an equaliser and it came in the 90th minute through Danny Boyle.

All the Town supporters thought that it was going to be a replay on Tuesday but it was not to be.

Dean Overson made a hash of a pass which let Facey in. His scuffed shot found g the far corner past King for an unlikely winner.
