SETTLE finished their season in grand style, trouncing Euxton by 150 runs at Marshfield.

Jack Harrison (42) and Demario Richards (22) put on a half-century stand for the second wicket, backed up by 24 from Daniel Strickland in the middle order. Callum Lockett then bowed out for the summer with ten sixes and two fours in a blistering knock on 84 from just 40 deliveries.

With a total of 222-7 in the scorebook, and the Ribblesdale League Senior League trophy already safe in the clubhouse, Settle gave their less-used spinners an airing.

John Davidson (3-5) and Richards (3-10) duly obliged, leaving Euxton all out for 72 inside 29 overs.

Settle ended up with 200 points, 26 ahead of second-placed Whalley, and only lost two games – both to Read – out of 21 played this season.

Barnoldswick finished the season in fourth place after suffering a 113-run defeat against Read in their final game.

South African Patrick Turner ended the campaign on a high note by taking 5-32 as Read scored 237 and top scored with 53no as Barnoldswick were restricted to 124-9.

Earby were spared from the prospects of defeat by rain. Their match with Cherry Tree was abandoned after they had been bowled out for 54.

Nigel Hodge (21no) was the only batsman to offer resistance to Mark Hadfield (6-24) and Kelan Florentine (4-26).
