ASLAM Hussain took 2-7 as Embsay recorded a comfortable first round Wynn Cup victory over Gargrave at Skipton Road.
Hussain was supported by Sam Arkwright (2-11) and Phil Binner (2-11) as the home side were bowled out for a disappointing 102, despite John Beckwith making 33. Eliott Stockton then hit 40 to help his side to a five-wicket victory.
At Royd Hill, Sutton restricted Cononley to 106-9, of which Charles Calvert top scored with 32 and Tim Feather made 31, as James MacDonald claimed 3-35. In reply, Chris Barrett (35) and David Snowden (24) saw the hosts home by six wickets.
Cowling and Glusburn conceded their first round ties to Riddlesden and Wilsden respectively.
The second round ties, which will be played on Sunday, June 3 are as follows: Wilsden v Oakworth, Thornton v Haworth Road, Haworth v Long Lee, Barrowford v Bingley Congs, Sutton v Embsay, Ingrow v Riddlesden, Hepworth & Idle v Chatburn, Foulridge v Sandy Lane.
